Ok, so I'm taking this course on ethics and I'm reading this book as part of the class (which hasn't started btw). And I came across this statement.

The epistemological version of ethical skepticism is often motivated by some form of naïve scientism (the view that only what science claims can be known to be true). But apart from the fact that such a claim is self-refuting (how could it be construed as a scientific claim that could be tested), and apart from the fact that science is itself committed to the existence of values (the epistemological value that simple theories are probably correct and the moral value that test results should be reported honestly), some moral principles can be known with more certainty than some scientific claims. (Readings in Christian Ethics Volume 1: Theory and Method – Clark & Rakestraw – p28).

This is going to be an extremely long semester when I have NO IDEA what that says… in English no less.

Yesterday, I finished reading through the entire Bible. It's only taken me 2 1/2 years, but i did make it. This morning, I opened up Logos to do my usual reading for the day and realized that 'it is finished'. Now what? Tammy tells me I should start over from the beginning... But there are several books I put off reading until I'd finished a complete read of the Bible. If you've got any suggestions, send 'em my way...

Ok, so I did it. I admit it. I've got no excuses. Yes, I gave-in to the trendy, snobby, indulgent, gadget-laden pop-culture that America has become and got an iPhone. I've only had it for about 24 hours now and… it's not that bad. And for all of those that don't have one :P

So, Tammy and i loaded up the kids and took them to the KSBJ 25th Anniversary Concert last night. We had a blast. Mandeesa / tobyMac / Mercy Me and a few others I didn't catch. I grabbed a movie of Taylor gettin' down (do kids still say that?). We, as Christians living behind the Pine Curtain, are an extremely blessed group to have such a great radio station broadcasting Christian music 24 / 7.

We tried to get t-shirts, but they were all sold out :(

Time to Post

Well, after taking a much needed hiatus, it's time to get back into the blog groove. I've spent a lot of time reflecting on what matters most and where I want to go from here, and I'm glad to say I've been able to figure a few things out – or at least I think I have. So, over the next few weeks, I'll be posting more on what's going on, uploading some pictures and videos of the monkeys and getting things going again.

The Next Chapter

Its official, Tammy and I have found our new church home. For those that don't know God has led us from our comfortable FBC Pflugerville to the town we grew-up in (Conroe). There's a cornucopia of churches in the Conroe area; some good, some not so much. We finally settled on Mims Baptist Church – a great church that God has been preparing us for. We are both looking forward to "what's next".

I spent this past week-end catching-up with all my old friends in P'ville. We had some Bible study time, Q&A time, and a great "sermon" on pornography from one of my mentors. We stayed at the Highland Lakes Camp – back in November of last year they had a fire that destroyed their worship center. We were the first group to work on the new and improved worship center for the camp. We spent about half the day on Saturday trimming trees and making fence-posts out of cedar trees.

Back to the grind

He had a GREAT time in P'ville this week-end catching-up with all our peeps. It was yet another great example of how God is big enough to show you who God is (anyone know what movie that one's from?)

We stop by our old house to check-up on the progress Dan Davison (no website YET) and the house looks incredible. Every project that I never finished is done. Every wall is painted. The garage is even painted! Tammy looks at me and says 'This place looks so good we should just move back and live here'. And then, less than 24-hours later the perfect buyer tells us they want to buy our house – so I guess God's shutting the door on us moving back.

Sometimes things just work out how He wants them too – regardless of what my wife wants ;)
